Boys (Royal) will be Boys

This past Saturday morning was one that we have been dreaming about...we sat out on the back patio and enjoyed coffee while Royal played in the back yard. (Don't worry Ian thoroughly cleaned up the dog poop the day before) A few

things to note in the pictures, check out the mud on Royal's legs, and the broken pink flamingo that's getting a ride in his green wagon.

When he fell down and encountered mud he looked at his dirty hands in panic, so he went promptly to the dog bowl to wash them...it was great.
As you can see, he had a great time - after this long play session, he enjoyed a nice warm bath.

Royal enjoyed his first Halloween as a "big kid" in a costume. Woof!

Like I said, each day Royal makes huge progess. He is walking all over the house!

My Superficial Shoe Post

Yesterday there were moments. Today there are SHOES! Can you EVER have too many? Now for the philosophical part....if are at a shoe sale and you only buy 1 pair you are just wasting your time.....think about that!

Baby Steps

This past weekend Royal took us by surprise and walked about 7 steps. Tonight I was busy making dinner, and I looked up and he was coming at me from clear across the room. Everyday is another adventure - this weekend....shoe shopping!

Moments - part 2

I was inspired to write "There are Moments" today during my work out. I was hanging on the pull up bar with 30 more "knees to elbows" to go...my hands were burning, the bar was sweaty, I was sweaty and I had 30 more! When quitting is not an option you find yourself in a place where you find out what it means to push through, then its over. You did it and its not even 6:30am yet. Today I was proud, Powerful.

There are Moments

Starfish 1 - Swim Lessons

Royal's last Starfish 1 swim lesson is tomorrow evening. We have had a lot of fun taking him to the pool every night after work. Royal learned to "float" on his back and front side (with our aid of course). He also had the experience of being fully submerged (yes, total head!) and reaching for dive rings in the wading pool. We plan to take him to the pool once a week. He is looking forward to showing off his new skills in Port A over the 4th of July!

Mr. Personality

It's hard to believe that Royal is approaching the one year mark! This week we started swim lessons at the NW pool. He's not sure exactly what to make of the cool water, but he's having a blast. This photo summarizes his personality, I love it!
